“I have been doing yoga for the past seven to eight years. The best thing yoga does is that it helps you open your chakras. It helps you stretch every muscle in your body. The breathing techniques help improve one’s internal health, too,” shares the designer.

Favourite asanas: “I like several asanas, but more than asanas, I prefer the breathing techniques in yoga. I’m all about internal well-being,” she adds.

Plans for the day: “My yoga partner is my cat, Mr Toffee Tinkerbell. I plan on celebratin­g this special day with him and some rejuvenati­ng yoga,” Mahmood tells us.

“Whenever I’ve done yoga seriously, I’ve been in the best shape of my life. So, it’s a win-win situation! Every bit of yoga has a different role to play. It’s not just instrument­al in keeping one slim or fit, but also helps keep one free of diseases. There are different variations these days, like the Iyenger yoga, power yoga, and hot stone yoga. But for me, yoga as a form of exercise, is something more than just a form of fitness — it is healing,” Sancheti says.

Favourite asanas “I find certain yoga exercises very therapeuti­c for my back. I used to have this acute stress and chronic sinus problem, so I started doing the Pranayama and Yoga Nidra. Once I inculcated these two practices, my life changed for the better. I no longer have those problems, I am full of energy and I sleep better,” the designer adds.

Plans for the day: “I believe, yoga is something that should be done and celebrated every single day for long-term results. I plan to uphold the same,” the fashion designer ends.
