Actor Sneha Ullal (above, right), who made her debut with Salman Khan (inset) starrer Lucky: No Time for Love (2005), and created quite a buzz for being an ‘Aishwarya lookalike’, later starred in regional projects such as the Telugu film, Ullasamga Utsahamga (2008) and Kannada film, Devi (2011).

The actor says that it was Khan who asked her to look for regional films. “It was Salman’s idea that I take projects in the South. I feel that I needed to grow and mature, and I am a much better actor now,” she says.

Sneha, who is making her comeback to Bollywood with her film Bezuban Ishq, says this was the perfect film for her because she wanted to do intense scenes. “I always wanted to come back with an intense love story. I feel that I can really prove my acting skill in these films. The second half of the film is so sad and I am crying in most of it, which is what I always wanted to do in a film,” she says, adding, “In fact, now I’ve become such an expert in crying that I don’t even need glycerin any more. I can start weeping any time.”

Although she was away from the big screen for a while, Sneha never felt that she wouldn’t get offers again. “I’m very secure as far as my looks go. They’ve always worked to my advantage. I was never worried about losing offers, in fact, I let them go because I felt that I needed to grow up. I want to be more than an Aishwarya Rai lookalike,” she says.
