‘STAND YOUR GROUND’

-

My arranged marriage has been fixed for next year and the girl that I am supposed to get married to is madly in love with me. Although I want to withdraw from this marriage, I can’t, as my parents have told everybody about the match. What should I do? AJ

See, you don’t love her. You don’t want this marriage. Be firm. Stand your ground. Don’t destroy two families.

I was friends with a guy for four years. We shared a strong bond. But suddenly, one day, he told me that he thinks that I love him, though I didn’t. We had a fight after that and we stopped talking. Now, I’m missing him. Should I talk to him or move on? AS

Do you love him? If you don’t, please sack him. But if you are missing and pining for him, then you may in fact be in love, which is what he thinks. You can try talking to him and coming clean, but his chances of changing his mind are less. But what have you got to lose?

I like a boy in my class. He too likes me. We have decided not to commit and wait till we graduate, as insisted by him. I’m head over heels for him, though I’m not sure if he feels the same for me. Do I keep throwing myself at him at the cost of sounding needy or do I stay aloof and play cool? A

What’s the fuss about commitment, sister? You both like each other, hang out and connect with one another. So, forget about the wait period, as you guys are in fact a couple.

My best friend and a guy are in a relationship. They’ve been dating for over a year. There is another girl in the guy’s life. He wants to be in relationship with my best friend and the other girl. I am unable to understand or analyse the guy’s desire. What should I do? SM

If your friend is aware of the other girl, then kindly butt out. If she doesn’t know, I suggest you talk to the guy, and ask him to put his cards on the table, or you’ll be forced to make his cards your business.
