Sharman’s tryst with horror

“I still very clearly maintain that I’m a full-time mother and the rest that I do is part-time. I’m fortunate that I can delegate those (business) jobs to my husband Raj Kundra. I have a great business partner who helps me run it. The only job that I can’t delegate to others is the job of a mother, for that I have to be there,” said the actor, who’s also recently released a book.

Actor Sharman Joshi (left) is one to experiment with different genres and is known for his role in various films, ranging from drama to comedy. Having tried his hands in the erotica franchise with his latest release, that also stars actors Zareen Khan and Daisy Shah, Sharman is now all set to be a part of a horror series — which is slated to release next year.

The movie is the third film in the franchise, whose previous installments were the films — 1920 Evil Returns (2012) and 1920 (2008).

There were reports that the film, helmed by debutant director Tinu Desai, was stuck because of production issues. The actor, however, clarifies the film will soon be seeing the light of day.

“My next film will be in the horror genre, something which I’ve never attempted before. It is directed by Tinu Desai and written by Vikram Bhatt. The movie should hit screens some time next year,” said Sharman, who has been earlier seen in films such as Rang De Basanti (2006), Life in a... Metro (2007) and Ferrari Ki Sawaari (2012).

The film also stars actor Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Meera, who was seen in last year’s paranormal-comedy Gang of Ghosts.
