As the year draws to an end, girls in the city are giving their best shot to look fabulous for the New Year parties lined up. From joining gyms to going to health parlours, there’s nothing that isn’t being tried to lose weight as quickly as possible.

“In our gym, 18 young female clients have joined. Most of them want to look happening for the approaching party season,” says Vicky Tuli, a gym instructor in Dwarka. “They have enrolled for trainings such as Tabata for burning fat, Kettlebell training for perfect muscles, circuit training using high intensity aerobics and body combat exercises to achieve a lean figure in a shorter duration,” he adds.

Kanika Trikha, a collegegoer has also joined a gym from this month onwards. “This month, I will be celebrating both my birthday and New Year’s eve. It is important for me to look fabulous on these days. So, I am following a strict exercise regime that includes dance exercises.”

Along with exercises, many girls are also taking care of their diet, in order to detoxify and enhance their looks. “Post Diwali, girls who have put on some weight, are coming to my clinic in large numbers to get diet plans and lose those extra kilos,” says dietician Sonia Narang, adding, “Some of them are even asking me to prescribe them fat-burning pills, so that they can quickly lose weight.”

Others such as Vidya Paramel are going vegan. “I’m following a diet plan which includes green veggies, fruits and whole grain products, besides doing innovative exercises. I can’t afford to not fit in the dress that I have bought for the New Year’s eve party.”
