When a biopic on a sportsperson releases, it is obvious for sporting legends to have an added interest. But this time cricketers Virat Kohli and Brett Lee have expressed an interest to watch Sajid Nadiadwala’s Dishoom which has an exciting cricketing premise. The film starring Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez is an actionadventure drama that revolves around two cops who are on a mission - a manhunt to find India’s top batsman who gets kidnapped 36 hours before the India-Pakistan clash in the finals.

Actor Saqib Saleem, who is essaying the role of a cricketer in Rohit Dhawan’s directorial, bears an uncanny resemblance to Virat Kohli. Sources also reveal that Saqib’s character is inspired by him. In fact, Virat has expressed his liking towards the trailer and has shown a keen interest in watching the film because of the intriguing plot line.

Similarly, Australian cricketer Brett Lee, who is in the city for the promotions of his film, met Sajid a couple of days back and said he wanted to watch Dishoom. A spokesperson of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment confirms the news. “The film is about India’s top batsman going missing before a very important match. This has piqued the interest of a lot of cricketers who have expressed their desire to watch the film.” Industry insiders suggest that the makers are toying with the idea of organising a screening exclusively for cricketers.
