Arbaaz happy with second leads

-

Actor Arbaaz Khan (right) says he is content doing secondary character roles and that he didn’t have any illusions about being the next romantic hero on the Bollywood block.

He says, “I started my career as a negative actor. If I had illusions about myself that I am the next romantic hero, I would have waited for that. I am pretty much sorted in my personality, which is more suited for the second lead, grey shades, and there is so much of work in that. Why does everybody have to be a romantic hero?”

As an actor, Arbaaz has featured in films like Daraar (1996) Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998) Hello Brother (1999) Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2004) and Dabangg (2010).

He says he is still getting a great amount of offers even though he didn’t turn out to be a superstar.

“I still get work. It has been 20 years for me in the industry. There is always a need for actors like me. I am happy to be busy and explore.”

He adds, “Maybe I didn’t become a huge star, but still I am happy. I just wanted to work.”

Arbaaz strongly believes in every actor having a reality check about himself.

“It’s very important to have a reality check. You have to constantly reassure yourself that you’ve got it in you to be good.”
