No one is bullied to pay ` 5 crores : Bhatt

- Subash K Jha

The crisis around Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is over with MNS agreeing to withdraw the protest against the movie’s release. Mukesh Bhatt, president of Film and TV Producers Guild says, “Karan was a tense wreck. He is a now relieved. Other filmmakers such as Gauri Shinde, Ritesh Sidhwani and Boney Kapoor can also heave a sigh of relief. But we won’t be working with Pakistani artists any more. Our solidiers are being killed. Pakistan is spreading terror in our nation. We should isolate them in every sphere.”

Apparently Karan and other filmmakers with Pakistani actors in their cast would have to pay Rs 5 crores for army benefits. “This is totally false news. No one is bullying us to pay money to soldiers’ welfare. The desire to help the family of the martyred jawaans should come from within the filmmakers themselves. If Karan or any of the other filmmakers want to contribute to the soldiers welfare fund they are welcome to do so. No one is forcing them to pay up 5 or 4 or 1 crore,” Bhatt says.
