Akshay Kumar who is known for his love for sports, has announced his upcoming film, that tells the story of India’s first Olympic medal as a free nation. The actor took to his Twitter handle to share the first look of the movie and wrote, “Set in 1948, the historic story of India’s first Olympic medal as a free nation, #GOLD coming to you on 15th August, 2018!” Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the film will be Reema Kagti’s third directorial. They too took to Twitter to share the excitement. “And here’s what we struck... #Gold :-),” wrote Reema. Farhan tweeted, “The story of when India won its first Olympic #Gold medal as an independent nation. Coming 2018..” The Indian hockey team, captained by Kishan Lal, won its first gold at the 1948 London Olympics as an independent country, defeating Great Britain.
