Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan and hair expert Adhuna Bhabani share some hair-spiration
With more than 50 films to their styling credentials, founder and creative directors Adhuna Bhabani and Avan Contractor’s brand BBLUNT is synonymous with Bollywood. They started with Dil Chahta Hai (2001), and went on to style actors in Don, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Dangal. At the launch of their at-home hair colour range, BBLUNT Salon Secret, Adhuna and brand ambassador, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, spoke about what makes the brand click.
How did Kareena happen to (endorse) the brand?
Kareena: I’ve been a BBLUNT loyalist forever. I frequent their salon be it for a haircut or colour job. The brand is a combination of two strong, intelligent women. So when they approached me for their hair colour range, I couldn’t say no. Adhuna: Kareena is iconic! We are drawn to the unconventional, and Kareena, over the years, has been that. She comes armed with just the attitude and confidence that we embody as a brand.
Kareena, you have worked with Adhuna on multiple projects. One vivid memory that stands out?
It was for a very special film, Don. My hair has never looked better than in the song, Yeh Mera Dil. Adhuna had styled it, and it was at its sexiest.
There are some great shades in the BBLUNT Salon Secret range. Which is your favourite?
Kareena: All seven shades are great. The extra ingredient in them, a magic potion — shine tonic, is what makes the product stand out. The shade we used in the commercial, Coffee, is my favourite. Adhuna: We have staples like Natural Black, Chocolate, Honey, Coffee, and fashion favorites like Mahogany, Wine, and Blueberry. I can’t pick one. Every shade is close to Avan and me. They’re specially crafted for Indian skin tones.
We’ve seen the Salon Secret commercial and it’s shining! What’s the one shining moment close to your heart?
Kareena: The current phase of my life (motherhood) is shining! It’s the most enriching journey.
