Kanika Kapoor was spotted having dinner with Shakira and Messi
After a busy schedule last year where she sung as many as 11 songs, such as Da Da Dasse (Udta Punjab) and Beat Pe Booty (A Flying Jatt), London-based Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor (left) is now on a holiday mode.
On Thursday, when her pictures with Latin-American singer Shakira and Argentine fofootballer Lionel Messi and hhis partner, Antonella RRoccuzzo went viral on social media, Indians fans started speculating if she is planning to collaborate with Shakira fofor a music video. To this, KKanika who’s in London, told HT, “I’d love to. But, there was no such discussion.”
Kanika met Shakira in Barcelona at a common friend’s house. “It was a fun dinner with great food, good music and even better company. Shakira and I spoke about our babies. She is warm and friendly. I have known Antonella Roccuzzo (Messi’s fiancée) and she is a dear friend of mine, and through her I’ve known Messi also.”
On being asked about what all Shakira and Messi said about Bollywood music, Kanika shared, “We spoke about music and Shakira told she loves the sitar and Indian classical music. Both of them shared that they’ve heard so much about Indian food and it’s culture, that they hope to visit India soon.”
Actor Dipika Kakar (above) is definitely going to break several hearts, as she finally decides to part ways with one of the most popular TV shows she’s associated with for the past six years.
“Yes, it’s true. I’m leaving the show. I need some time off for my personal life. But, I’m refraining from talking about it because I don’t want anyone to feel and say that it’s a stunt to get a pay hike,” confirms the actor who is on a threemonth notice period.
Not divulging the reasons behind her exit, she adds, “Actors are humans. They also get tired. In my case, my body has given up and I have reached a saturation point, where my mind can’t think beyond a certain point. (Also), when you’re shooting for 12 hours for such long years, your outside world shuts down for you.”
The show brought in many supernatural plots that promoted superstitions. Having portrayed her character convincingly, she confesses that there were times when she couldn’t relate to the roles she played on screen. “At times I didn’t connect to those characters at a personal level, but I took it as my job. Also, it’s the entertainment industry and if certain things assure you success and are being liked by the viewers, there’s no reason to question it. I’d rather look at it as the testing period for my acting skills.”
Dipika, who faced a lot of flak on social media when she turned into a fly in the show says, “I know half of the country started calling me a fly but I never get worked up by negative reactions. I only kept calm because there’s nothing I could do in creative decisions. I just concentrated on giving my best performance.”
