Wedding perfect hair the colourful way

- Nikita Sachdev nikita.sachdev@hindustantimes.com

Ditch your boring hair this wedding season, whether you’re the bride or the bridesmaid. You can give your hair a whole new look by playing a little with colour.

Hair expert Aparna Soni from Purp Salon offers an insight into the types of hair colours one can opt for.

HAIR STROBING

Strobing is not just for your face but for your hair too. Just like adding highlighter to your face, it adds highlights to your hair. The process is different from typical highlights. The process includes applying wider strips of colour for dimension and contrast, using colours that are two shades lighter and two shades darker than the natural hair colour.

OMBRÉ HAIR

If you don’t want to colour your entire mane, but would still like to jump on the colour bandwagon, ombré is perfect for you. Using the ombré trend is a great way to keep the colour low-key.

BALAYAGE

Love it when sunlight sweeps your hair? Then you have to try Balayage. It allows for a sun-kissed natural looking hair colour and is different from standard highlighting methods that use foil or a cap. Balayage is strictly freehand where the colour is painted on. You can choose your hue to vary from a soft wash to bright and bold, depending on your personal choice.

After colouring, the main concern remains dry and frizzy hair. You must go for Keratin, i.e., hair taming a day or two after you get your colour done. This helps in taming the hair and protects them from damage by creating a silicon coating on your it.
