‘PEOPLE OFTEN CONFUSE ME FOR RANVEER’
Actor Ranveer Singh’s lookalike Hammad Shoaib of Pakistan already has film offers coming his way
Move over the blue-eyed chaiwalla. The latest internet sensation is Pakistan’s Hammad Shoaib, whose uncanny resemblance to actor Ranveer Singh has made him a social media celebrity. The 20-yearold claims he is a big Ranveer fan and he loves dancing to the actor’s hit numbers. The young businessman, however, doesn’t believe in ‘imitating the actor’. “I never compared myself with Ranveer. I admire his personality and I respect him a lot. He’s one of the most talented actors in Bollywood,” says Hammad, who is a resident of Faisalabad in Pakistan’s Punjab province. What’s more, he says he’s not used to the sudden attention coming his way. “I never expected this kind of attention. I used to be a regular guy on Instagram and Facebook. People admired my looks and personality. Friends use to say that I look like Ranveer Singh but I never had an idea that my pictures will suddenly go viral and create such a buzz on the Internet,” he says.
Now, people often confuse him with Ranveer. “Ranveer’s fans often confuse me for the actor. My fan following is increasing by the day. It’s funny, but I am glad that I am getting so much love from people across the world,” says Shoaib, who is already getting offers from the Pakistan film industry. “I can’t share details at this point, but I have been getting several film offers. I have already signed up a few good projects,” says Shoaib.
Shoaib is also keen to work in Bollywood. “Bollywood has legends such as Amitabh sir. (actor Amitabh Bachchan) I would be privileged to work in Bollywood, if I am given a chance,” he says.
