I am the one stopping myself from making it big: Anjana

- Monika Rawal Kukreja

With quite a few Hindi and regional films to her credit, actor Anjana Sukhani (left) says there’s much more she wants to do. The 38-year-old actor, who was last seen in Coffee with D alongside Sunil Grover, says that as an actor, one can never be satisfied with what they have done in the past. “You’ll always be greedy to do more, do better, and sometimes even regret over lost chances.”

So are there any regrets or unfulfilled desires? “Not really regrets, but I do feel when I look back that I could have taken up something that did well but it was completely my judgment that went wrong,” adds the actor who has done films such as Salaam-E-Ishq (2007), Golmaal Returns (2008), Department (2012) and Shaandaar (2015).

Unlike a lot of other actors who indulge in blame game when their career slows down or doesn’t shape up the way they expected it to, Anjana believes in taking the onus and not cribbing. Ask her what is it that’s holding her back from making it big, she says, “I am the one stopping myself. I somehow like to work at my own pace and create what I like to do. I know somewhere I’m getting stuck. I don’t want to move out of my comfort zone.”

On whether the mounting competition among the leading ladies of Bollywood is a pressure in any way, Anjana says, “There is competition and you need to fight to make your space. I don’t know if I have made mine yet.”
