Asunny morning in Jammu became brighter as Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut landed on Tuesday to meet and greet the jawans of BSF Frontier Headquarter Jammu. Wearing an olive green sweater and striped skirt, Kangana obliged with selfies.

“It’s been an experience of a lifetime to visit you all here. I’m excited to be able to spend time with the real life heroes,” said Kangana, who went to promote her upcoming film, Rangoon that has the World War II as its backdrop.

Interacting with families of the soldiers, the actor thanked their wives for their courage. “We’re inspired. How difficult it must be to let your husbands fight it out at the borders given the life risk,” said Kangana, who went about the campus in a gypsy, met school kids, visited the BSF Memorial, and took part in a cultural activity with the soldiers. She even danced and sang songs from her films.

“I’ve heard how (yesteryear actors) Meena Kumari ji and Nargis ji used to interact with the soldiers. The purpose was to thank them for their contribution and further inspire them. That culture suddenly ended. While working on the film, I got to know so much about the jawans,” said the actor.

“Kangana is one of my favourite actors. I enjoyed meeting and interacting with her,” said Senior Medical Officer, Dr Pallavi Sharma, Deputy Commandant.
