Arshad and Naseer back on the silver screen
You know you can expect a film to be good if it stars Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi together. The two actors will star in Aparnaa Singh’s debut directorial venture, Irada — a thriller that has an environment-focused theme.
Speaking about his relationship with Shah, Arshad says, “Naseer saab and I have one thing in common. We don’t like giving many retakes, because then the natural essence of the scene will get messed up. He has such a wicked sense of humour that whoever understands it will understand how awesome he is.”
Actor Divya Dutta, who also features in the film, says she always wanted to work with Arshad and Naseeruddin. “I’ve met Naseerji so many times off-screen, and I just love the way his eyes speak volumes. He is a pleasure to work with. And Arshad is the fun person on set. Even draining, serious scenes become fun when Arshad is around. It was an amazing experience,” she says.
For Aparnaa, it has been a dream project. “All the actors I’ve worked with, I’m going to go to them with my other film scripts too, because of my experience working in this film,” she says. The trailer of Irada is receiving tremendous appreciation from the audience, say makers. An Irada Entertainment LLP production, produced by Falguni Patel and Prince Soni, and directed by Aparnaa Singh, Irada stars Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi, Sagarika Ghatge, Divya Dutta and Sharad Kelkar. The movie is set to release on February 17.
