‘Good content needs more publicity’

-

Actor Kajal Aggarwal, (above) who juggles regional and Hindi film industries, says that films with good themes but smaller stars, usually go unnoticed. “Good content needs more publicity. Without that, the audience doesn’t come to the theatre, and that affects box collections,” said Kajal who last acted in the film, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani (2016) She added, “Perhaps that’s why even though people appreciated my performance, it didn’t translate at the box office.”

Having started her career in 2004 with the Bollywood film, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na..., Kajal acted in various Tamil and Telugu films and shared screen space with popular actors like Ram Charan and Prabhas among others.

Sharing her experience in the regional film industry and how it’s different from Bollywood, Kajal doesn’t see much of a difference. “It feels more like the Indian film industry than just a regional one. There are many technicians, choreographers and actors constantly working in South and the Hindi film industry.” She said, “In addition, the projection of women is changing in Telugu film industry like the way it is happening Hindi cinema.”

Kajal feels that the style of storytelling is becoming quite “contemporary” in the South as well. “It’s a good phase for the two industries,” she says. Currently the actor is busy shooting for the Telugu film Nene Raju Nene Mantri with Rana Daggubati.
