Be it a jacket, dress, pair of sandals or formal shirt — pastel colours are a classic spring and summer staple for your wardrobe. “Spring and summer seasons are the ideal time to embrace delicate pastel shades,” says designer Aditi Somani. These understate­d tones lend a simple, sophistica­ted and an effortless look to the person wearing it. “The reason why these shades work best for this weather is because while being subtle in nature, pastels add a touch of airiness to the ensemble. They are easy on the eyes, appealing without being overbearin­g, and give a fun yet relaxed feel,” she adds.

Pastels comprise colour tones such as peach, coral, lilac, champagne, baby blue, teal, blush pink, lemon yellow, and pistachio green. Designer Pria Kataaria Puri shares that pastel colours sell big time in India, and if you want to invest in them, you can go for pastel colours such as blush pink, pista green, champagne and lemon, among others. According to Puri, when opting for outfits in this colour palette, one must keep in mind that pastel colours complement pastel tones. “A pastel colour has a particular tone.
