Here’s to making men more fashionable

- fashion designing? Tell us about your journey?

Be it a tuxedo or sherwani that you’re looking for, the collection at designer studio H-2 by designers Bharat and Reshma Grover deserves your consideration for their finely-crafted pieces. Excerpts, from a chat with the creative duo, also known to dress Bollywood celebrities.

What inspired you to take up

Garments and fashion always fascinated us; but what got us going was boring, dull groom wear and menswear as opposed to the beautiful designs donned by the ladies. Menswear needed a revolution.

How has the fashion world changed over the years?

It has evolved for the better; there is not just western influence, but a lot of inspiration is also taken from our rich culture. Indian fashion is recognised and applauded worldwide now.

What’s the inspiration behind your designs?

We find inspiration from diverse sources — nature, different cultures, observations we make while travelling, as well as social changes etc.

Do you think there is a scarcity of menswear fashion shows in India?

Yes. And it’s high time we had more menswear shows.

What do you have to say about designers opting for copyright?

This has been happening over the years, but we think that as long as you are confident about your craft, creation and quality, it’s best left ignored... We might as well take it as a compliment.

Tell us something about your latest collection?

Our latest collection is called the Recherche, and it has a strong emphasis on silhouettes and shapes. As the name suggests, the range is unusual, rare and sophisticated... It’s meant for the adventurous men willing to experiment and seeking something new.
