Make a splash
The humid weather could make dressing up and looking glamorous a bit of a challenge for many. So, this monsoon, fashion designers Rebecca Dewan, Varsha Wadhwa and Anoli Shah have style tips to give your outfits a fashionable spin.
“Monsoon calls for fun pieces with shorter hemlines. Some summer clothes such as culottes, bermuda shorts and high waist pencil skirts can be used during the rainy season,” says Rebecca Dewan.
“Monsoon gives you a lot of scope for experimentation,” says Anoli Shah. While fabrics play an integral role in this season, the colours you choose can also uplift your mood on a gloomy day. Fashion designer Varsha Wadhwa recommends fresh hues such as pinks, yellows and greens. “A pop of orange featuring vivid prints also looks great,” adds Wadhwa. “Colour blocking, prints, short hemlines, light fabrics and the right amount of layering will give monsoon a stylish spin. Play with proportions, avant garde pieces, and finish your look with light, dewy makeup,” says Dewan.
“This is the season where you need your clothes to dry quickly. The most favoured fabrics for the season are georgettes, chiffons, cotton, rayon, mul fabric and light-weight silk,” adds Dewan.
