‘GAME’ FOR SOME FUN?

- Etti Bali

Blessed is the long weekend that brings respite from work and an excuse to party even harder. And if you and your friends have decided to have an improptu jam that means a groggy Monday, we have some fun game options you can indulge in. In addition to the repeat offenders in terms of drinks, menu and decor, how about adding fun with games like beer pong, boozy apple bobbing and beer darts?

SHOT ROULETTE

Fill shot glasses with your favourite concoctions and potent combos of spirits and arrange in a circle (similar to a roulette wheel). Place an empty vodka/beer bottle in the centre of this circular arrangement and sit around it. Take turns in spinning the bottle and on whichever drink it stops, the person drinks up.

ATTACHED TO THE HIP

Make chits marked with three body parts — arms, the head and feet. Now pair your guests in teams of two, with each person picking out a chit. Partners now need to stay together with the respective body parts ‘attached’. If they separate, they take a shot.

BEER PONG

Set 10 solo cups filled with beer on both sides of a regular table and divide your guests into two teams. The goal is to toss a ping-pong ball into one of the cups on the opposing team’s side. When the ball lands in a cup, a member of the opposing team has to drink it and whoever wipes out the opposition first, wins.

BOOZY APPLE BOBBING

Fill a large tub with an alcoholic drink and put apples in it. Mark the apples on the sides with numbers from one to five, which indicate the number of shots. Now each person has to pick up apples with their mouth (remember, no hands!). The apple-bobber drinks the corresponding number of shots.

BEER DARTS

A game involving beer and dart boards, this one requires aiming skills beyond boss level. So, you pick up a dart and throw, but if you miss the board, you drink from your glass/bottle of beer. Miss the board three times in a row, you will have to chug your beer. So the tipsier you get, the more chances you miss.

TWO TRUTHS, ONE LIE

Taking turns, write two truths and one lie on a chit and read to the guests. If unanimously they are able to identify the lie from the truths, then you take a shot. If they fail, they take a shot.
