ADD POTATO TO YOUR BEAUTY REGIME

You might love potatoes in the form of chips, fries and wafers, but did you know the starchy vegetable also helps keeping the skin flawless. From dark circles to wrinkles to bright skin, it’s beneficial in many ways.

DARK CIRCLES AND PUFFY EYES

Almost all of us spend long hours working on mobile phones or laptops, and stay awake till late night. This leads to dark circles and puffy eyes. Apply either chilled potato slices or grated frozen potato for about 20 minutes on your eyes. For better results, do this three times a week.

WRINKLES BLASTER

Want to get rid of wrinkles naturally? Squeeze out the juice from a potato, and apply it on your wrinkles using a cotton ball. Wash that part with cold water after 15 minutes, or wash your face with potato juice for a minimum of 15 days, for best results.

HEALTHY HAIR

Hair fall and dandruff are something most of us complain about. To get shiny and healthy hair, extract the juice from a potato. Add 1 egg yolk and 2 tablespoon­s of lemon juice to it, and apply the concoction onto your scalp and hair. Keep for 30-40 minutes, and wash off gently with lukewarm water. If you wish, you can follow it with a wash using a mild shampoo. Repeat this 2-3 times a week for visible results.

DRY SKIN

Those with dry skin, potato is your best friend, as it would leave your skin feeling smooth. Make a face mask by mixing a grated potato with half a teaspoon of curd. Apply it on your face for 20 minutes, and then wash it off with cold water. This will act as an anti-aging mask to hydrate your skin from within.

BRIGHTEN SKIN

To lighten your skin, peel the potato into ½ inch slices and gently massage the area for about 15 minutes. After this wash your face with cold water. For added benefits, you can use honey with potato. For this you need to grate 1 potato and add 3 tablespoon­s of honey in 2 tablespoon­s of potato juice. Stir it well and apply this mixture. Rinse after 10-15 minutes. Follow the process daily for better outcome. The starchy vegetable is great for your skin and hair when applied topically
