I was offered Disha Patani’s role in Dhoni biopic: Rakul
I missed the opportunity of working with Neeraj [Pandey] sir in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). I was busy with my Telugu projects RAKUL PREET SINGH, ACTOR
Rakul Preet Singh is on could nine. The actor is working with her dream-director Neeraj Pandey, in his upcoming film, Aiyaary. And, starring alongside her in the project is her favourite, actor Sidharth Malhotra.
“Sidharth is one of the best among the current generation of actors in Bollywood. With his choice of films, he has established himself well in the industry and is continuing with the good run. It’s a pleasure to work with him. I’m also excited to work with Manoj Bajpayee in the film. He is one of the finest actors we have right now,” says Rakul, who plays an IT professional in the project.
The actor, who made her Hindi film debut with Yaariyan (2014), is a popular name in Telugu cinema, and starred in films such as Venkatadri Express (2013), Bruce Lee - The Fighter (2015) and Nannaku Prematho (2016).
Rakul was in Delhi recently, to shoot for her second Bollywood project, and will be back in the first week of July for another schedule. All praise for Neeraj Pandey for his brand of cinema, she shares, “I’m someone who has always loved Neeraj sir’s films. I missed the opportunity of working with him in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). I was supposed to play Disha Patani’s role [of Dhoni’s ex-lover] in the film, but couldn’t take up the project because I was busy with my Telugu projects.
This time, when Neeraj sir narrated the script [of Aiyaary] to me, I immediately said yes. The plot [of the film] is very interesting,” she says.
Her next Telugu film is AR Muragadoss’ SPYder, also starring popular actor Mahesh Babu.
