Large Windows: A unique element of the modern home is a large window in the sitting area. Unlike the vintage style, modern homes are well-lit with natural light. However, with large windows, use of huge but unobstructive curtains is a must. In particular, the curtains should match with the decor of the room.
Sleek furniture: Avoid using wide, bulky furniture with loud colours which represent an old tradition. Use furniture that is sleek, and functional and takes less space. Steel frames or a mix of metal and wood do well.
Clutter free environment: One of basic elements of a modern home is cleanliness. The entire space must be kept clean and clutter free. All items should be in their designated places. Free of wire mesh: Lastly, homes are now using a number of wireless electronic gadgets. This also means that the entire home is kept wire free. Even the modular kitchen is kept like there is no wire. Cords otherwise visible are also a hazard if there are kids in the house. Installing the implements in a manner that cords can be hidden behind walls makes sense.
