Empowering minds for a social change
Apioneering foundation in the space of creating responsible young citizens,YES Foundation, recently felicitated 75 young social leaders at the convocation of YES Foundation Media for Social Change Fellowship 2017 (Mumbai Cohort). This year, 210 high potential fellows have emerged as agents of change from over 3,344 aspirants across 535 Indian cities and towns. Supported by YES Bank, the fellowship aims to develop socially conscious youth leadership, in association with ISDI WPP School of Communication. The fellows were placed with 101 credible NGOs across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi, where they led well-defined communication projects. Rana Kapoor, chief mentor and co-chairman, YES Foundation said, “I strongly believe that India’s youth are the innovators, builders and leaders to actualise an empowered and equitable India. YES Foundation Media for Social Change Fellowship channelises the high-octane, positive energy of youth to accelerate India’s social transformation. In the next three years, we intend to unleash the program’s fullest potential by developing thousands of socially conscious youth leaders for the country’s social transformation.”
Addressing the audience, journalist Arnab Goswami said, “I would like to commend the foundation for mentoring and empowering the YES Foundation Media for Social Change Fellows, who are potentially some of the best minds in the country. I am certain that these change-makers will continue to action solutions to social issues, which are potent and relevant.”
