Brace yourself for a musicladen eve with power-packed performances by band Rangreza and singer Shibani Kashyap. Kashyap, who is a graduate of Lady Shri Ram College for Women, has had an amazing musical journey. “I teamed up with a band, Black Slade, when I started out in Delhi. It was a great training ground for me. After college hours, I would rehearse with them and later perform at hotels. That’s the time, I learnt playing the guitar. A singer is complete only when one knows how to play an instrument. In my college, I also formed a girl band and performed at competitions. I’ve grown from a musician to an artist. But I have kept my roots intact.”
On performing at HT Friday Jam, she says, “Music brings people together. It’s a great initiative taken by Hindustan Times. I’m excited and it’s always wonderful to perform at Cyber Hub.”
From amateurs to professionals, winners of Friday Jam season 3 Rangreza are ready to rock the stage again tonight. Alongside Sufi numbers, the rock band will dole out Bollywood hits too. “We’ve been making music for four years now. The motive behind professionally forming the band was to perform at the platform of HT Friday Jam, and we ended up winning the title. This is the stage that has made us and we love performing here. The crowd at Cyber Hub is encouraging and they appreciate all music genres. The recognition and love we received across the city, post winning the title, is beyond measures,” says Shreyash Tiwari, the band’s vocalist.
