CAMPUS EVENTS CULTURE ADVENTURE ‘KAREENA PUSHED ME TO WRITE THIS BOOK’
Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar’s book, Pregnancy Notes, is inspired by the actor and her son Taimur
What do Kareena Kapoor Khan’s size zero and her pregnancy glow have in common? Well, both hit the headlines and during both the phases, she had celebrity nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar by her side. If you have been wishing to take notes from her pregnancy diet, your wish has been granted. Rujuta’s latest book, Pregnancy Notes, not only has a foreword by the actor, but according to her, she and her son Taimur are the inspiration behind the comprehensive guide on everything “before, during and after pregnancy”.
“That I write this book was entirely her idea,” says Rujuta, adding, “Her weight loss, post pregnancy and the way she sizzled all through her pregnancy has created the same curiosity at the time she was size zero. And, Kareena is eager to share all that goes behind a healthy pregnancy with her fans.”
The book offers diet plan, recipes and information on pregnancy. Rujuta has also busted some myths in the book. For instance, during pregnancy, rice and ghee are good for health and so is weight training. “I hope the book provides the right education both in terms of food and exercise,” she says.
The book states that if a woman is active during pregnancy, she would return to shape easily within weeks of delivery. “With tennis player, Serena Williams, winning grand slams during her pregnancy, people have become more receptive to the idea of exercise during this period. It’s good for an effortless delivery.”
