Dr J.S. Randhawa, a renowned radiologist, makes his directorial debut with Muskurahatein ,a film set in a medical college that releases today.

The story revolves around an extra-marital affair between a teacher and a student. While a lot of films touch upon extra-marital issues, this one sheds light on how best to deal with this critical situation.

Starring Dr J.S. Randhawa, the film also has veteran actor Sanjay Mishra playing an important role, and marks the debut of newcomer Sonal Mudgal, who plays a student.

Sonal, a student of Gargi College in Delhi, says that she is more than happy to make her Bollywood debut with this film. “I’m glad I got this movie as I wanted a role that would let me portray my age. The movie is set in a medical college. It’s perfect as I have just finished my graduation too,” she says. Her modelling experience helped her with stage fright. “I was nervous on my first day, but I am used to facing the camera so it wasn’t awkward at all. I’m looking forward to a long journey in Bollywood,” she says.

Talking about his film, Dr Randhawa says, “It’s funny how someone who isn’t a film buff like me has directed a film. I didn’t have a TV set at home for 18 years. Just two months back, I got a TV set. I hardly watch movies, but I somehow wanted to make a movie that talks about issues in society in a realistic manner. I’ve have trained more than 10,000 students in my career, so I’ve seen the issue students go through.”

Sanjay Mishra, known for his solid performances, says that the script was interesting. “Everyone is new in this film. I liked the script because it was set in a medical institute. I was very interested after I heard the script — it was about doctors completing their ultrasound training,” he says.
