Actor Emraan Hashmi says he is least bothered about what’s going on in other people’s lives
Emraan Hashmi, whose latest project is multistarrer Baadshaho, is already receiving rave reviews for his comic timing and one-liners. The film, a period heist, is apparently loosely based on a real incident.
Emraan says, “Taking off from a real incident, Milind Luthria (director) and Rajat (Arora) built up the story and the fictitious characters. Because eventually, it’s about entertainment as it’s a film. It’s a very well written script.” Talking about stepping out of his comfort zone, Emraan says, “I believe that this is the most entertaining part I have played. I had to play it very differently from roles I have done before.”
The actor, who has earlier shared the frame with Ajay Devgn, says that they have a similar working pattern. “I believe in getting down to actually playing the scene out and acting it out, and then ask questions later. Some actors prefer endless discussions before they get onto a film set. But I think our working styles are similar in that sense. We acted out and then ask our director if he wanted it (performances) in certain way or more nuanced, and accordingly we would enact. Ajay is very professional and secure, and we share an easy equation. Also, personally, we are similar in a way that we don’t attend the so-called film parties and there is a lot of resemblance in the way we think,” says the Azhar (2016) actor.
And aren’t both persons of few words? “Yes, you could say that,” he laughs, adding, “You need to engage in a meaningful conversation and not constantly be a motor-mouth. So, when you have to talk sense, then I think both of us are the type who will speak and make conversation, but not senseless chatter to just fill in silences.” The actor says that he is also least bothered about what’s going on in other people’s lives. “I care less about who the hell is doing what in their lives, I am only bothered about what’s happening in my life. I don’t care who is dating whom. I am not one of those people,” adds Emraan.
