WHEN MILEY GAVE ELLEN A LESSON
Ellen DeGeneres is 59 years old, and Miley Cyrus 24! So when the popular host invited the young pop singeractor on her chat show — The Ellen DeGeneres Show — she tried understanding the younger generation through the viewpoint of a millennial, reported eonline.com.
Millennials is a term used for those born between 1982 and 2002.
“One thing people my age don’t understand are millennials,” said DeGeneres, adding, “And I don’t like ignorance. So, I want us all to be open and try to understand one another. So, I asked one of my friends to help me bridge the gap between millennials and my generation.”
In a segment, the host referred to Cyrus as “Mileyennial,” and asked her a series of questions about the habits of millennials, like taking pictures of their food on Instagram, or liking music festivals.
Cyrus, telling DeGeneres that she shared her own food photo this summer to celebrate the fact that she’s vegan, explained. “Food photos are just kind of like a celebration of life... I think, we [in general] take food for granted, and a photo helps remind us of the beauty that’s in front of us every single day.”
As for DeGeneres’ question about youngsters thronging “dirty” festivals that are so “hot and crowded”, Cyrus said, “For a lot of people, it’s about being seen... Everybody goes. There’s tons of celebrities there, you know.”
DeGeneres, as expected, had a witty one to crack: “So if someone posted a picture of themself at Coachella with food, Instagram would just burst into flames?”
