Where students become all rounders and good leaders
At just 17, Delhi boy, Kabir Saund (right), a student of The Scindia School, Gwalior has achieved much more than children have, at his age. Kabir is the deputy School Captain of The Scindia School for 2017-18, a black belt in karate Dan 2 at the age of 12.
That’s not all, he is the winner of inter-house debate for the past 5 years, he was Under-Secretary General at Scindia Model United Nations for 2015 and 2016, Saund was also appointed as the Microsoft Student Ambassador for the school in 2016 and was the editor-inchief of the review (school magazine) in 2016.
Kabir says that the Scindia School has played a very important role in his achievements. “I have always been interested in organising things, so over the years I have realised that competing is one matter but organising different competitions, in which people can interact has always been my favourite. At the Scindia school, I got a chance to explore different opportunities there. The school taught me how to juggle different things at the same time,” says Kabir.
He further adds, “There is a stark contrast between what I was before and what I am right now. I have much more confidence in approaching the world, trying out new things and working towards goals.”
Ravi Saund , father of Kabir says,“Kabir always showed leadership qualities from his early childhood days. To be a good leader, you have to be a rounded personality and Scindia School provided my son a perfect opportunity to be a rounded personality aiming to be a good leader.”
Dr Madhav Deo Saraswat, principal, the Scindia School, Gwalior says, “Our understanding of the education is that you should take care of the student. Once this is done, then the skills automatically becomes part of their personality. And that has been part and parcel of this school. When you’re at the fort, the fort becomes your home. We are born twice, one biologically and the second time when you enter Scindia.”
