‘Jhanvi will be loved like her mom’
Producer Boney Kapoor (right) says that his daughter Jhanvi (inset) will be loved by the audience, just like her mother, actor Sridevi. Kapoor was reacting to a question about Jhanvi’s debut and he said, “As a father, I would wish her the best. She is very hardworking and focused. I am sure, like her mother, she will be loved by all and I would seek everybody’s love for her.”
Kapoor wants the 20-year-old to be able to live up to the expectations of the audience. Jhanvi will make her Bollywood debut under filmmaker Karan Johar’s banner. Johar has in the past launched actors like Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Jhanvi will reportedly be a part of the remake of the Marathi film Sairat, and will be cast alongside actor Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khatter.
Kapoor has recently produced Mom, a film starring Sridevi, which has been a success. Speaking about it, he says, “When a filmmaker tries to make a good film and if he gets success in that then definitely it’s a nice feeling. With the release of Mom, we launched new director, writer and few actors as well. It’s been a good journey,” says Boney.
However, it is Sridevi’s work that he is all praise about. “The best part of the film was that I worked with my wife, (Sridevi) and people appreciated her work a lot. She did a great job in it and that’s why we showcased this film at international platforms as well. It has been a satisfying experience,” he adds.
