Sunil Grover’s show won’t be clashing with Kapil Sharma’s show
There has been a lot of speculation about actor-comedian Sunil Grover’s new comedy show and how it will take over Kapil Sharma’s show once Krushna Abhishek’s comedy show The Drama Company wraps up. But we have learnt that this is not true. Sources claim that while Sunil is set to make a comeback on TV, and is in talks with the channel for a new show, his show won’t be a replacement for The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS). “Sunil has been in touch with the channel since he quit TKSS in March. While he was offered a show of his own earlier, it seems this time, the talks will bear fruit and Sunil will end up with a brand new show,” says a source.
“He is working with the channel on a new concept and things should be finalised soon. But the reports that he will be replacing Kapil are not true. Kapil will return with his show after the release of his film, which is scheduled for November. Sunil’s show will be scheduled for the 9pm slot and once Kapil returns, most likely in December, TKSS might get the 10pm slot. Sunil and Kapil will entertain the audience on the same channel but in different shows,” explains the source.
Krushna’s show will continue till Sunil is ready with his show. “While there are reports that Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda and Sugandha Mishra, too, will join Sunil in his new show, it is too soon to tell as no one has been approached yet,” adds the source. Sunil was unavailable for comment.
