TV actor Mrunal Jain is back in India after a successful stint on Indonesian television, and is now considering offers for Indian shows. The actor’s soaring popularity after TV show Uttaran, took him to Indonesia in April this year, where he participated in the popular reality show, Pesbukers, along with other actors on TV, including Shakti Arora and Vishal Singh.

Mrunal shares that he enjoyed his time in Indonesia. “Fan experiences have been fantastic [in Indonesia]. Indian soaps and TV actors are loved in Indonesia more than [Bollywood] film stars. I would love to go back there, again. Also, now I feel you can’t deny the impact of the small screen, be it India or abroad,” he says, adding that given TV’s reach, even Bollywood actors are keen on working on the small screen.

“Everyone in Bollywood also wants to do TV, as it has an instant connect. Unlike watching a film where you have to pay for the ticket, travel and food, when it comes to TV, one can relax at home and enjoy watching it. I also feel that a career on TV offers more stability,” says Mrunal, who reached India on Sunday.

Mrunal was last seen on the show Naagarjuna - Ek Yoddha. Asked what kind of TV shows he plans to take up, he says, “I surely want to play the lead in a TV show. It can be either positive or negative but the character must have something new to offer.” The actor also wants to do films. “Who doesn’t want to do films? I had done a role in Satya 2 (2013). And I am open to doing more movies,” he concludes.
