Actor Iwan Rheon talks about his new show that gives a twist to the superhero genre
Saumya Tandon, unlike many TV actors who would keep jumping from one show to another, is quite content with where she is. Being a part of the same show for almost two years now, the actor says that she won’t take up another show just for the sake of it. She adds that the right project has to come her way, which needs to be convincing enough.
Asked if she wishes to be part of a daily soap, she explains, “Here, on Indian TV, we have stereotypical stories and we don’t go out of our comfort zone. Even if the makers try to make a new show, different from the rest, the channels don’t support most of the time. And if the actors try to experiment then the audiences don’t accept. Makers blame the channel and the channel passes the blame to the audience. Sadly, we have not evolved as an industry.” As far as doing two shows simultaneously, Saumya says, “I can’t do another fiction because my current show already takes about 20 hours in a day. Also, I am not really interested in doing a fiction because I am playing a lead role. Once I wind up, I shall lookout.”
Drawing comparison with the TV content in the West, Saumya adds, “The work that the American TV industry is doing is way above our standards. I feel very jealous. So even if I get a small role in a show like Newsroom, I’ll readily give my
one hand for it.”
Actor Demi Moore says she and her daughter, actor Rumer Willis, had a great time living together while shooting for Empire.
The 54-year-old star moved in with Rumer when she landed a recurring role as a therapist on the musical TV drama, on which her 29-year-old daughter plays singer/songwriter Tory Ash, reported Entertainment Tonight.
The mother-daughter duo loved hanging out in Chicago, US, after filming as they do not get to see each other often in Los Angeles. “Since she’s a regular and I’m just a guest, I’m in the guest bedroom of her apartment — she gets the king size bed. I love it; we have a great time. Honestly, even though we pretty much live about 10-15 minutes away from each other in LA, with your schedules, you sometimes don’t get to spend quality time with each other. So, being able to have time to go out and eat, and spend time with each other has been really amazing,” says Moore.
