At the recently concluded HT GIFA season four, Volkswagen presented the Golden Boot Trophy to the young football champions

HT GIFA that kick-started in 2013 to promote football has taken over the city’s football scene.

The football tournament, which saw 2500 teams from the city participat­ing, came to a close with a lavish ceremony at the CWG Village Sports Complex, where R. Saravana Kumar of Volkswagen India, the driven by Partner of HT GIFA presented the Volkswagen Golden Boot Trophy to Shravan Chowdhry (Palms FC) and Rishab Dobrial (Young Gunners), who scored a total of nine goals each throughout the matches.

Speaking about the associatio­n, Kamal Basu, head, marketing and PR, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “We are proud and delighted to be associated with GIFA, an inter-society football face-off competitio­n that promotes the spirit and culture of sports amongst young talent in India. Our support for this event reflects our belief in nurturing budding talent and giving them a viable platform to showcase their skills.” On winning the Golden Boot Trophy, 16-year-old, Rishab Dobrial, said, “It feels amazing to win this trophy, considerin­g my team also won the tournament. I am exhilarate­d; it only motivates (me) to pursue playing further.”
