Designs for the entire wedding entourage
Anamika Khanna’s bridal entourage blends elements inspired by nature with a whiff of modernity
Day four of our unique fashion extravaganza, HT City Print Fashion Week, supported by Fashion Design Council of India, celebrates designs that marry all things traditional with contemporary influences. Designer Anamika Khanna’s collection, Happily Ever After, has something for everyone.
From lehengas in pastel hues for the bride to shararas with intricate dori-work for the bridesmaid — it is an assortment of all that a modern wedding entourage needs. “Even though we have been inspired by historical references, we also remembered that the new-age bride has a mind of her own, while working on the collection,” says Khanna.
From lightweight fabrics such as organzas and georgettes to a colour palette that works across seasons, get inspired to be a gamechanging fashionista.
From pastel-hued embroidered lehengas to draped maxis with elegant prints, our stalwart, designer Anamika Khanna’s couture collection, Happily Ever After, ushers in a big dose of freshness.
“With this collection, I tried to put together something for everyone. There is the bride and her family and the groom’s family too — so it’s an amalgamation of light and heavy ensembles to cater to everyone. For me, this was a journey of emotions. We went into small nuances, like picking classics such as Benarasis that one wants to preserve to modernday silhouettes,” says Khanna. From lighter attires in calming hues to embellished ones in threadwork to zardozi-heavy couture — pick your favourite.
