SATISFIED WITH THE FILMS I’M DOING: KATRINA
The actor talks about learning from each one of her movies, friendships and more
Actor Katrina Kaif has starred in some of Bollywood’s biggest hits such as Namastey London (2007), Dhoom 3 (2013) and Ek Tha Tiger (2012), but her last few films, including Baar Baar Dekho (2016) and Jagga Jasoos, didn’t get an impressive response at the box office.
Nevertheless, she’s “satisfied” with the kind of films she is doing.
“I am very driven and focused on what I want to do. I am pleased about getting to work with people who I enjoy working with, [I like] learning from new people... [and] I enjoy my job,” says Katrina, who feels that everyone goes through phases where they are extremely inspired, and times when they feel stagnant. “With every film, you try and make sure that you are learning. And if there is ever a point when you are distracted, ask yourself, ‘How do I push myself?’” adds the 34-year-old actor.
Katrina maintains a positive outlook, not just about work but also her friendships with contemporaries, whether it is sharing a comfortable moment with actor Anushka Sharma at filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show or posting photographs of a gym session with actor Alia Bhatt. “There are always some people with whom you get along really well, while there are some you don’t know so well. It’s more visible and open now because of the social media. We are more accessible to media (now), but friendships have always been there,” she signs off.
