TO SWEET AND HAPPY TIMES
No matter how much you’ve eaten, there’s always some room for delightful desserts. After all, desserts don’t go to your stomach; they go to your heart! And which is why, Monginis, the renowned cake brand that made it’s debut this year at Hindustan Times Palate Fest witnessed a large number of people and kids participating in various activities organised by them. At Mongi-land, the little children channeled their inner baker selves in a ‘Be A Baker’ activity wherein they decorated tiny pieces of cake with icing and sprinklers – making it into an ever-lasting fun filled memory. Ansh Aggarwal, 6, one of the participants, said, “I keep playing games of cake decoration on my father’s phone and that’s how I have learnt to decorate a cake.”
Another interesting programme that kept baking aficionados across all age groups engrossed and engaged in the session was the master class by expert chefs of Monginis where the team crafted a lip-smacking two-tier wedding-themed chocolate flavoured sponge cake.
Nitin Patankar, product development executive, Monginis, also revealed a few tips and tricks to the audience during the session about how to gain expertise in baking cakes but most importantly mentioned, “It’s only through trial and error method that you get to learn how to bake a perfect delicious cake.”
Present at the event, the marketing head of Monginis, Ayyappan Swamy, said, “In Mumbai, we have almost 300 cake shops. What we, at Monginis, are trying to do in Delhi is to fill the gap of having an organised chain of a cake brand. We have got an encouraging response here from people.” He further adds, “We have opened six shops in and around Delhi and are also expanding to nearby states. Morever, we have been known for our packaged products in the Delhi market for quite a long time. This is our debut at fest, we are presenting a wide variety of cakes. In the next 10 years, we are aiming to have another 200 Monginis cake shops in the Capital.” PHOTOS: HTCS/MANOJ VERMA
