What pleases the palate of Delhiites, who are accustomed to the best of the world cuisine? The answer is a dose of Hindustan Times Palate Fest — an event that was a perfect amalgamation of fun, food and entertainment!
Last weekend, when city’s food lovers headed to Nehru Park in Chanakyapuri with friends and family, the sprawling lawns became abuzz with conversations on food and music. So much so that Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty decided to have her #SundayBinge at the Palate, including luscious jalebi-rabri and crispy gol-gappas.
You name the dish and it was at the fest to savour. “People kept coming back for our Mysore Mutton Masala Thali and we’ve even got bookings for our restaurant at Ansal Plaza,” says Himanshu Gupta, owner, Trend Bar & Kitchen, who made their debut at the Palate.
Another first timer was Dragon Wagon that saw repeated orders for their pork chops. The Great Kabab Factory’s dish Nasheela Malai Tikka was also a hit.
Alongside relishing heavenly food, visitors soaked in some amazing music by popular bands as well as upcoming artists, who performed at the main stage and the Yellow Zone, respectively.
In between these two areas was the Market Zone that served hot beverages and cold desserts, keeping the visitors warm and the conversations heated. Cutting through a crowd, one had to reach TeaCupsFulls to try their popular Jasmine Green Pearls. “We get whole tea leaves from Darjeeling, Assam and China. This is our first display at the Palate and we’ve received a very good response,” says Shikha Puri from the stall.
Foodies devoured it all, in anticipation of when will they get to witness another portion of this intoxication.
Be it customised food, music bands or Demo Zone, everything became bigger than the previous editions of Palate Fest
