Amother-daughter bond is a very special one! After all, we inherit our cooking skills from our mothers. From making a regular omelette to baking a cake, she has taught us with patience. To celebrate this bond, Aashirvaad Svasti Pure Cow Ghee launched the campaign ‘Maa Knows Best’ contest at Hindustan Times Palate Fest 2017.

In fact, actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra also spoke about the importance of maa ke haath ka khana at the fest. “Whenever we talk about mothers, the first thought which comes to my mind is ‘maa ke haath ka khana’. Mothers have magic in their hands. My favourite is Neer Dosa. When I was a kid I used to eat it all the time, and the best part is I never got bored of it,” she said.

The brand ran a contest on HT City and their social media handle till November 14, inviting mother-daughter selfies and cooking tips borrowed from mothers. The shortlisted entries won a gift hamper worth `2,000, and the mother-daughter duos were invited to be a part of a live cooking contest at the fest.

On the third day of the Palate Fest, the daughters of the invited teams were asked by the chief guest for the evening, Chef Manisha Bhasin (Senior Executive Chef ITC Maurya, Delhi), to prepare a dish in one hour.

That’s not all; mothers of the invited teams were a part of the jury in addition to the chief guest. All dishes prepared by daughters were co-evaluated by the chef and the panel of mothers.

Ultimately, Ishita Gupta was declared the winner of Aashirvaad Svasti Maa Knows Best contest. She was awarded a gift voucher worth `20,000 of ITC Hotels.

Elated, Ishita Gupta said, “This is the first time in my life that I’ve cooked something completely on my own, without my mother’s help. I would like to thank my mom who’s given me the best cooking tips. I feel my mother is a true master chef.”

The brand also engaged with visitors over three days through interactive activities at their stall. Various exciting games, photo op, and live cooking station preparing dishes with Aashirvaad Svasti Ghee added to the festivity of the HT Palate Fest.

Aashirvaad Svasti Ghee is made using special SloCook process, where ghee is slowly cooked for about 3.5 hours over gradually increased temperatures, which enhances its natural aroma and gives it a distinct flavour. It is manufactured in ITC’s own state of the art dairy plant in Munger with its own milk procurement network, ensuring quality.
