Anna Kendrick says music adds to animated films
Actor-singer Anna Kendrick feels music is an important element while narrating a story through an animated film.
“I love the musical sequences in Shrek (2001), and I think music adds so much to animation. It just feels like they belong together,” Kendrick said in a statement.
Well known for the musical comedy films, Pitch Perfect (2012) and Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), Kendrick was also a part of The Accountant (2016), which had her starring opposite Ben Affleck.
Kendrick also voiced the character of Poppy in the 2016 animated romantic comedy, Trolls, alongside Justin Timberlake.
About the experience, she said, “It was intimidating but completely wonderful. He is an exemplary co-worker. I was definitely nervous about working on the music with him because it’s his forte, and he is very good at making it all feel kind of manageable and making everyone feel comfortable.”
Timberlake has earlier voiced characters in movies such as Shrek The Third (2007) and Yogi Bear (2010).
Timberlake and Kendrick will also lend their voices to the upcoming sequel to Trolls, which is slated to release in 2020.
