Renowned Polish illustrator, graphic artist and storyteller Piotr Karski does a lot of interesting things — designing and writing books, conducting workshops and painting murals — to expand the minds of young kids. “Children are inquisitive, they love stories, and love anything that quenches their thirst for knowledge, in a fun way,” says Karshi, who’s in the Capital (his maiden trip to India) for Bookaroo, the annual festival of children’s literature.

His book, To the Mountains, will soon be releasing in India. Karski says, “Engaging kids from India through my books is a great deal for me. I might just design a book around India in the future.” He adds, “Many tend to believe that children and adults have to be dealt with differently, but I don’t completely agree. I feel that kids will be open to learning and their curiosity will be fuelled if you give them the right material. You just have to be responsible while writing for kids, that’s all.”

Ask him about his maiden trip to India, and Karski says. “The experience has been amazing. I travelled to Jodhpur and Jaipur before coming to Delhi. I am excited to see places and try the food here ,too. But I plan on exploring Delhi. I’ve heard so much about it, and I’d like to go sightseeing.”
