Harshvardhan on replacing Abhishek Bachchan
Actor Harshvardhan Rane feels lucky to have got the opportunity to collaborate with filmmaker JP Dutta. The actor, who has replaced Abhishek Bachchan in the upcoming movie Paltan, says his role in the film is not just pivotal to the plot but will also surprise everyone.
“I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of such a project. Of course, everyone is talking about me replacing Abhishek [Bachchan], after all, he was launched by JP Dutta sir [in Refugee, 2000]. If JP sir can see him in me, that’s a huge thing for me. I always see such things as an opportunity,” says Harshvardhan, who made his Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam (2016).
Not commenting on what made Abhishek walk out of the project, Harshvardhan adds, “Abhishek must be having his reason to opt out, but at the end of the day, everyone should be happy. Shoot is almost over and I am looking forward to the reaction from the audience when the film releases.”
The actor remains tightlipped about his role, and doesn’t divulge much. “I am not supposed to talk about it. What I can say is that it’s a very interesting character. I think my role is going to shock everyone, and it’s something that I have never done before. It is completely different from what people have seen of me in Sanam Teri Kasam,” he shares.
The film also stars actors Arjun Rampal, Jackie Shroff, and Sonu Sood, among others. Harshvardhan shares that working with senior actors from the industry helped him learn something new every day. But what he enjoyed the most was observing the filmmaker [JP Dutta] at work.
“He is a person with great instinct and knows his actors well. He can read our minds,” says Harshvardhan.
