I ndia’s 50 best premium restaurant­s were unveiled at the Condé Nast Traveller and Himalayan Sparkling Top Restaurant

Awards 2017, as voted for by over 100 of India’s top tastemaker­s and influencer­s. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP were the process advisers and official tabulators for the awards. Talking about the success of the first edition of the awards, Divia Thani, editor, Condé Nast Traveller India, said, “We are delighted to present such a credible list of India’s 50 top restaurant­s. Our jury of 100 tastemaker­s voted for the best across the country — from Delhi , Goa to Kochi. The list is reflective of the innovation taking place in the industry, and the shift in urban India’s approach to food — the rise of standalone restaurant­s, the growing interest in regional cuisine, the focus on authentic ingredient­s, and the willingnes­s to experiment. Food has always been the number one reason our audience loves to travel — and with this list, we are giving them 50 more reasons to do so!”

The list was topped by Indian Accent (New Delhi), followed by The Bombay Canteen (Mumbai), and The Table (Mumbai). The 50 restaurant­s were also rated as per the Himalayan “Raw n Fine” ranking — it celebrates establishm­ents and chefs for whom ingredient­s from a unique and natural source are vital for creating a superior experience. The Table, Mumbai, led the pack, followed by nine names from Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru.
