Hair hacks for winter

- (With inputs from hair and beauty experts Shikhee Agrawal and Blossom Kochhar)

The winter season can take away all the moisture and natural oil from your hair, making them dry and visibly dull. But experts say that by investing just a little bit of time and care, you can easily retain your hair’s natural sheen and shine.

Regular trims: It helps you get rid of split ends during the winter season when the ends of your hair tend to become dry and static. Trim your hair every few weeks to avoid a rough hair situation. Opt for dry shampoo: Dry shampoo is one of the best options to revive limp hair. It comes in quite handy when you need to get ready in a hurry.

Opt for a hair scrub: Use a hair scrub to purify and cleanse your scalp of any excess sebum or build-up of impurities, which may cause dandruff.

Conditioning: Deep conditioning is a must, irrespective of the weather. Remember to condition and mask your strands with a nourishing conditioner to retain a smooth texture. Leave it on for five minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. To prevent dandruff, follow these simple steps: Brush the scalp to dislodge any flakes and dead skin cells, and apply dandruff control lotion to the scalp. Massage gently for 7-10 minutes.

Pour an anti-dandruff shampoo in a bowl and mix with a little water. Apply the mixture to your hair with a cotton swab. Spray the hair with water and massage gently for 10 minutes. Cover your hair with a shower cap for another 10 minutes and rinse off. After shampooing, towel-dry the hair. Apply dandruff control conditioner on the hair strands. Rinse after two minutes.

Apply dandruff control concentrate all over the scalp, massage gently with your fingers then rinse.
