Taylor Swift spends $47.7 million on Manhattan pads

American singersongwriter Taylor Swift has hit the headlines by spending almost $47.7 million (₹305 crore) on apartments in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighbourhood in New York City.
The 28-year-old singer’s latest acquisition at 155 Franklin Street in Manhattan is a second-floor unit measuring 3,540 square feet — adding to three other properties she already owns on the same block to create a monster penthouse duplex measuring 8,000 square feet. She paid $19.95 million for the penthouse properties, which were formerly owned by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, in 2014.
The latest acquisition, according to reports was bought from financier Jeremy Phillips for $9.75 million in an off-market deal.
And Look What You Made Me Do singer also owns an $18 million townhouse next door, at 153 Franklin Street, bringing her total spend on the block to $47.7 million.
Other celebrity residents at 155 Franklin include comedian Aziz Ansari, who bought his $5.7 million unit from Rangers captain, Ryan McDonagh, last May. Former owners in the building include film producer Steven Soderbergh and actor Orlando Bloom. Meanwhile, the pop superstar is quickly approaching the start of her Reputation tour. Kicking off in May, Swift will hit the road and perform at more than 50 scheduled concerts around the USA. ANI
