Every year admissions to colleges, the process, the choices and the paperwork leave parents and students overwhelmed and confused. This hampers the main goal of making the right career choice.
Ansal University and The Ardee School together have taken the initiative to bridge the gap between school and college and prepare students to make informed career choices.
The College Bridge programme is a collaborative endeavour initiated by Ansal University and The Ardee School. To be conducted for Ardee School students at the end of every school year in March as a part of the academic calendar, this programme enables Ardee school students to experience college life at the Ansal University campus for a six days college and internship experience. Flagging off in March 2018, the first CBP programme is focused on the field of architecture and design and will expose students to guest lectures, studio time, an internship at architecture or design firm and a heritage walk.
Sheetal Ansal, chairperson, Ansal University feels, “Students come to college unprepared, and The Ansal-Ardee College Bridge (AACBD) programme is designed to help school students experience college life and make informed career choices. This is a breakthrough programme as students in India have limited choices to change their options once they enroll in a degree programme.”
Shefali Varma, chairperson, The Ardee School says, “Even in grade 9 (age 15) students are completely unaware of who they want to be when they grow up. Most of them follow what is popular or choose what their parents suggest and never find their calling. It’s a trial error method that has been prevalent for the last five decades. This college bridge programme controls the error and allows an informed choice. This bridge program is the infrastructure needed in education in the 21st century.”
The programme will begin at grade 8 level for The Ardee school students of NFC, Gurgaon, and Goa. “This year the AACBD covers architecture and design, next year we hope to expose them to law engineering or business management,” says Varma.
