India’s premier cosplay championship is back in the Capital, so gear up to witness champion cosplayers channel their favourite characters
Love Cosplay, but can’t wait till the next Comic Con? Well, you don’t have to, because the second edition of ComiCon India — Indian Championship of Cosplay is back with some of the best cosplayers from around the country.
Touted as India’s premier cosplay championship, the event gives local cosplayers a platform to go international— Comic Con winners from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad will vie for the top spot, and the winners will battle it out at the Crown Championship of Cosplay at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo 2018.
“The community is growing fast in India and I’m proud that Comic Con India has played a crucial role in helping the community to grow. And the competition is fierce, this year,” says Jatin Varma, founder, Comic Con India.
“I’m cosplaying as Sarah Kerrigan in her primal form from the game StarCraft. My costume is carved with foam and coated with latex, and it has motorised wings made out of PVC that would span 10ftX6ft,” says Sana Khan, a champion from Delhi.
Visitors can also enjoy an entertainment lineup that includes a live performance by Classic Collective and the Beat Breakerz dance group. The event will also host a Fan Cosplay Contest across categories such as Anime/ Manga, animated series/ movies, comic books/graphic novels and gaming. Visitors can vote for their fan favourite, on the Cosplay India website.
