Actor Palak Jain, who is set to make her acting debut on the small screen with Yeh Pyar Nahi Toh Kya Hai, is confident that her maiden venture will be a great learning experience for her and help her prepare for future endeavours. Palak is of the opinion that television as a medium provides great opportunity to actors to showcase their talent and it’s no longer considered to be any lesser than films. “Television prepares you [for the future]. It is a great medium to begin. Earlier, there was probably a perception that if you are a TV actor, you can’t get into films. But now, it is just your talent. If you are capable enough, after doing TV, you can get whatever project you want. Talent has to be there,” she explains.

Born in Agra, Palak moved to Mumbai last year to pursue a career in acting. Having bagged the role in this new show after going through an audition, she says that one of the main reasons why she took up the project was the fact that it is a finite series. “I didn’t want to do daily soaps as it can become quite monotonous. Year after year, you are doing the same character. I was clear that if I were to do TV it has to be a good, finite show. That is when this happened,” she shares.

The actor admits that she was initially nervous when she started shooting in Delhi and wasn’t confident about facing the camera, delivering dialogues, but eventually got settled. “The working hours were challenging. I was not prepared for it. But there are no short cuts and this is how TV works. I just had one thing in mind that I have to deliver my best. This is what I love doing,” she signs off.
